Background
Dr. Alyssa Combs is an industry leader who has had the honor of being recognized and awarded with a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joe Biden in May 2024. She has also been recognized by Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals “35 Under 35”, Georgia State Alumni “40 Under 40”, and Business Elite Awards “40 Under 40,” in 2023.
Alyssa is an Atlanta native and founder of GeoTechTure, as well as several other ventures. Along with being a self-published Author for Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Blurb, she continues to be a visionary for creative ideas, streamlined processes and technology influenced innovation.

Alyssa also represents the small percentage of women who are Federal Aviation Administration Certified Small Unmanned Aircraft Pilots (Part 107) .
Alyssa received her second Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy From Harvest Christian University in May 2024. She received her first Honorary Doctorate from the School of Great Commission & Theological Seminary in December 2023. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Environmental Design and Planning from the University of Georgia. Her prior degrees include a Master’s in Geoscience and Bachelors in Geography from Georgia State University, as well as, an Associates in Mathematics and General Studies from Georgia Perimeter College. At the age of 21, she became one of the youngest individuals to become certified as a Project Management Professional and has maintained an exceptional status for nearly a decade.
Alyssa has over 15 years of experience working in, and advocating with communities on a number of core issues including environmental justice, youth engagement, STEM-based education and community development. Furthermore, her experiences and expanding network have led her to work with partners on the local, state, national and international level including, but not limited to, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Georgia Department of Transportation, Environmental Community Action, Georgia General Assembly, University of Belize, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Conservation Fund, Hong Kong Baptist University, Sixpitch, Atlanta Regional Commission, U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Agency and City of Atlanta.
With her technical expertise in Geographic Information Science Technologies (GIS), she has been instrumental in using technology to highlight community concerns through research and creation of effective data inventories. Alyssa currently serves as the youngest board member for the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, an environmental justice advocacy and education group. She is also serving on a government GIS team that designs & maintains the utility data infrastructure for a local county in Metropolitan Atlanta.
